July 6 Prayer Blog

Now to Him who is able to do far more abundantly than all that we ask or think, according to the power at work within us, to Him be glory in the church and in Christ Jesus throughout all generations, forever and ever. Amen. (Ephesians 3:20-21)

For the generations coming after us to glorify God, we must teach our children about Him. That will be happening this week at Calvary’s Vacation Bible School. Children from our church and the surrounding neighborhood will learn that God created them and loves them. They will hear the gospel message in lessons about the Law, grace, and the cross of Christ. Ask the Lord to prepare the heart of each child in attendance to receive and respond to these lessons. Pray that many will experience spiritual rebirth this week and that those who already belong to the Lord will grow in their faith. Pray that our building will be not just a busy, fun, loud place this week but also a holy place where God is at work in a way above and beyond what we can imagine.

Here are other prayer topics this week:

1.  Lift up all the VBS workers, asking God to infuse them with Christ-likeness. The lessons the children will learn about God will come not just in the teaching times but also in their interactions with the adult and teen leaders.

2.  VBS is a great reminder that children are of enormous and eternal value. Pray that children’s families will flourish because their parents exercise loving authority over them, expecting obedience. Ask the Lord to lead even non-Christian parents to know that it is the right thing to do.

3.  Continue to pray for our GO Team in Kenya. They continue their ministry work today and tomorrow, debrief “on safari” on Wednesday and Thursday, and begin the long journey home early Friday morning (our time).
