1 Corinthians 16:1-24

Ask the Lord how you can apply the principle of regular, incremental saving and giving in your life.

Faithfully pray for our pastors: Dave Tebay, Todd Dixon, and (soon) Shannon Estell. As Dave noted, the task of shepherding is often challenging and even bruising. Pray for steadfastness in following the Lord and for encouragement day by day.

Ask God to help all of us – men and women – to “act like men” – to stand in the gap for others and do whatever is necessary in times of trial or danger.

Pray for the spiritual health of Calvary Church and ask the Lord how you can help.

Finally, quoting Pastor Dave:  Lord, help us be a church that ultimately glorifies You in all that we do.

Please continue to pray for Lorraine Kratt, who had surgery last Wednesday at USC to remove a tumor. Pray for strength and healing for Lorraine as she recovers from surgery. Doctors discovered two other suspicious spots. Lorraine asks that we pray that these two spots are not more cancer.

Lift up the individuals who were baptized yesterday: Matt Schraeder, Kaia Grubb, Shirley Maher, and Brian Gallagher. Ask the Lord to keep growing their faith and to protect them from the attacks of a displeased enemy.

Pray for the ministry of LOT318 in the W La Jolla Street neighborhood in Placentia, near our old church building. The full name of the ministry is “Loving Others in Truth,” based on 1 John 3:18. Working in the context of that community, the ministry serves children and youth. One  way Calvary supports LOT318 is by donating gently used clothing for the community’s big Thanksgiving Day rummage sale. The deadline to donate is next Sunday.

Kristiana Miller, daughter of Jim and Lynette Hatcher, contacted me to request prayer regarding her family’s visa situation in Ireland. Kristiana, husband Cory, and two young daughters serve with Greater Europe Mission in Dublin. A big part of their ministry is supporting and mentoring the teenage children of other GEM missionaries. The Millers submitted their application for visa renewal over two months ago but have heard nothing. Ask the Lord, in His sovereignty, to move government officials to look with favor on their application and to protect the Millers from worry.

In Christ,
Carol Gilbert
